Hi, My name is Denise Sulla Staszewski. I am a granddaughter of Vitoantonio "Fritz" Tortoriello and Rose (Galante) Tortoriello. My brother Chris Sulla is on your e-mail list. Please add my name to it.

We have been trying to obtain complete and accurate information from our surviving aunt and uncle and our first cousins to fill out the listing for our grandparents. But it has been difficult to get. Do you wish us to give you what we have complied thus far or wait until we have the complete info. My brother forwarded the e-mail from Brazil. Our grandmothers maiden name is Galante and we have cousins living in the Chicago area by that name. There are also Galante's living in Ricigliano. I don't know if we are related to the Galante from Brazil. We would need more info.

I'm sorry to inform you and the rest of our whole Tortorello Family that Della Tortorello passed away on February 2nd. She was 91 and her last days in the nursing home were peaceful. The home respected our wishes and they did not perform any extraordinary measures to prolong her life. She was completely bedridden so it was for the best. I sorry for the delay in reporting this but on the same day my mother-in-law also passed away. Conducting 2 funerals in such a short time was a little difficult. Although both ladies had preplanned arrangements there are always final decisions to make.

If you want you can post this sad news on the web site. She was the third daughter of Francesco and VitaAntonia (Serritelli) Tortorello. She was born on September 4, 1910. She never married but was always part of our extended family. Della was a great shopper and that elusive item was always a great challenge for her. The CTA were her wheels and its schedules were committed to memory. In her later years a shopping trip to one of the suburban malls made her day. (Even if her wheels were now attached to a chair being pushed by "niece" power.)

We all know now that she is up there checking the good buys on the other side of the pearly gates.

I am the son of Christopher F. and Patricia E. Parrilli of Hillside, IL. My father was the son of Vito Carmen Parrilli and Lena Parrilli (nee Serritella/Tortorello) . These were my grandparents. Vito's parents (Carmen and Vita) were from Ricigliano. Vito was born here in Chicago but returned to Ricigliano as an infant and was raised their until his early teens. He stayed initially with relatives living on a farm somewhere in Indiana. He eventually made his way to Chicago where he met and married my grandmother (Lena)

I have been to Ricigliano three times in the last 8 years. I am in contact with several relatives still living in Ricigliano (mostly with Rocco D'Ambrosio, Antonio Pintozzi and Tony D'Ambrosio). I would like to make the acquaintance of other relatives (perhaps Tortorellos, Seritellas, Pintozzis, Pagnozzis or other Parrillis). By the way, whatever happened to Tom Pagnozzi after he left the St Louis Cardinals?

Anyway, I would like to get more detail about my heritage - -particularly as it relates to my Riciglianese roots. I also might have information to offer that is worthwhile.

My name is Rita Sessa Prassa, and I am the oldest child of Theresa (Broccolo) & James Sessa. My grandmother was Pasqualena (lena) Tortorello (not Elena) who was the oldest child of Viaantonia and Antonio Tortorello. My mother Theresa is living with me at this time in Phoenix and I printed out your website and had her read it. She is 94 now and remembers much about the family. I personally knew Viaantonia, my great-grandmother, since I was 13 years old when she passed away. This website is just great, but may I be so bold to say that several facts are in error. How can I give you more and correct info? I could make corrections on the printout and mail it to you. I could fax you the info. But I am not expertese enough to enter a website. I may have many more pictures you could use, since I am making up albums now. I also have many stories that would be of interest. When I was a child (the great depression) I lived in the extended family, it was more economical that way and Grandpa Ralph wanted that way. It was a great way to pick up a wealth of family information. For some reason I remember so many things that happened and I have my mother here to verify. Well, let me know the best way to get this information to you.

Hi Craig, here is a message from a component of the Uruguayan branch of this glorious family. My father is Gerardo and my grandpa was Constante Roque who passed away in 1973. I was told that his grandfather was Italian and migrated to Uruguay sometime around 1900. Also, I know that my father has a cousin named Jorge that left the country years ago and settled in New Jersey.

Congratulations for the web page! I really enjoyed reading it and will be glad if you could investigate some more on the links between the U.S. and the Uruguayan branch. I am 37 and married Cecilia in 1990. We have three children, Federico 7, Pablo 2 and Maria who was born in May 27th. I will be looking forward to hearing from you soon.

I have two brothers. One is Thomas, he lives in Corpus Christi, TX and is a retired psychologist. The other one lives in TX also. His name is Mike. Mike has for children. Three boys (twins) and a daughter. Thomas doesn't have any children. I also had another brother named Bob but he died in' 94. My brothers are from my Dad's first marriage.

I went through the Tortorello website and could not find my father. I really feel bad that I didn't ask more questions about his father. I just remembered that my grandfather came fron the New York State area. If you can find out anything I would like it.

Hi, my name is Fabricio Galante. I read your website and found it interesting. My grandparents were Italian. I have always wanted to know where they came from and if we still have any relatives in Italy. I would appreciate it if you would tell me about where you are from and if you have information of any relatives that came to Brazil. I am 23 years old, I am a recently graduated lawyer and would like to visit Italy.

At moment I'm living in Australia by myself but I'll come to Brazil next December.
